On the phone with him few nights ago, he was very excited to have found a good site for the 'Wishing Well' invitation. As funny as it sounds, few days later I found an almost exactly the same one on one of the photographers' blog. That was sweet~~~~
If you do not know what 'wishing well' is, it is actually a fancy donation box sometimes found at weddings and showers to collect monetary gifts for the guests of honor. Traditionally, it was a well where wishes were thought to be granted, especially if coins were dropped into the water.

Below are some examples I found interesting:We'd love to have you with us when all our dreams come true. But at the risk of being bold we ask one thing of you. We've been collecting household items before tying the knot And consequently have what most newly married couples do not. We're on our way to Hawaii for our honeymoon. A holiday for us to share that hasn't come too soon. So if you're thinking of a gift and don't know what to get. A gift of cash would help us most and get us on that jet. But most of all we'd love you there on our special date. To share with us our happiness and help us celebrate.
We made a commitment, some time ago, that together through life,we were destined to go.
To save you looking, shopping and buying, here is an idea, we hope you'll like trying!
Come to our wedding,to wish us both well, and please make a donation,to our wishing well.
More than just kisses so far we've sharedOur home has been made with love and careMost things we need we’ve already gotLike a toaster and kettle, pans and pots
A wishing well we thought would be great(but only if you wish to participate)A gift of money is placed in the wellThen make a wish … but do not tell
Once we’ve replaced the old with the newWe can look back and say it was thanks to you!
And in return for your kindness we’re surethat one day soon you'll get what you wished for!
The tradition of the wishing wellused on the wedding day,is here both for your money giftsand for what you would like to say.So please drop in a token of lovefor this special Groom & Bride,as they start their life united by Godto live forever side by side.
This wishing well is here today for family and friends. Take anenvelope, make a wish and please drop it in. As it falls into thewell your wish, for the couple, will come true. A token for thecouple, to help them begin, will be welcomed, too. Please take thetime to make a wish before the day is through.
Now we are to be Mr & Mrs We don't need a wedding list of dishes we have two kettles, two toasters, two microwaves We require a house for which we have to save. If you would like to give us a gift, A cheque or vouchers would give us a lift We like to think of it as our 'Wishing Well' Which will be filled with your love, we can tell.
"We really would appreciate a little money of our own, instead of a little gift for our new home!" We know you want to find something nice But it's such a hassle to find the right price So come and enjoy the day all sunny We really would appreciate a little money.
Many of our guests have enquiredFor a gift idea to be inspired
Like many young couples today We have most things anyway
If you would like to give, it is our requestFor something for our treasure chest
A gift of money you can affordIs just what we need you can be assured
Without the help of this little punOur honeymoon would not be much fun
Don't know what to get,Please don't fret,If you have something special in mind,Please feel that way inclined,A donation to our honeymoon would be the perfect gift,Please help our funds to lift.
