Thank God for my Mum! My Malaysia’s photo-shoot package was chosen by my mum as she visited KL from KK for a wedding expo there named Taipei Taipan Bridal World:

Mum managed to sign up for a wedding package for us with the following very good deals back in 5th of December 2008:

Package: RM2,988-00 includes:

1) photography (indoor n outdoor shooting) 2 wedding gowns, 2 evening gowns and 3 traditional costume.
2) To take out for 1 mth period: 1 wedding gown, 3 evening gowns n 2 coats (bridegroom)
3)Make-up, hairdo and bouquet for photography only
4) 1 pc 24" x 36" photo + frame
10 pages 20" x 15" and 10 pages 10 x 15 albums with a total of 50 poses (designs)
2 pcs 10"x15" photo + frame
80 pcs - 4R (8 poses i.e yr photos) to give to relatives and friends (like postcard)
1 set photo screen ( it's a wooden stand where u can hang/display 1 pc 16x20" and 4 pcs 8x10" photos)
5) 1 pc 8x 10" photo + crystal frame, 1 pc 12 x36" design, CDR (same poses),
DVD- 1 song long - slide show of yr indoor and outdoor photos.
1 casing (like a james bond bag to put yr albums)

The difference is this package provide 2 days photgraphy.

1 day for studio (from 12pm to 5pm)
1 day outdoor in Sekinchan where you shoot until you get sunset background.This place has at least 8 different backgrounds for you to take photos. Not so tiring as you do both in and outdoor in 1 day. They also provide 1 make-up artist to follow you there.

Mum has very kindly paid a deposit on 23/11/08 of RM1000 for us to register for the RM2988 package with the option of upgrading it to RM3988 if we wish. I have to say that Mum has been a great help to me which saved me much time to do research from overseas and with her good bargain power, they have even agreed to let us loan 3 gowns in total for a month for my wedding & reception use. Very blessed…

Finally today I had a chance to do some research about them – Taipei Taipan Bridal World which is under the Thai Thong’s Group. I just googled their name and found a lot of comments from the Malaysia Brides forum and many from people’s blogs. Initially it was quite discouraging to see many negative feedbacks since the year of 2006. However as I gradually read through them up to march 2009, I realized there are some positive and some poor comments. Instead of worrying about their performance, I chose to set my mind in peace and truly commit the whole process to God’s hands. I was reminded that it is in the midst of darkness that a light can be shone. Deep in my heart I made a decision to do my best as a customer in being friendly and easy-going, not too bossy or acting as a bridezilla, be nice and trust that as people mistreat me, it is my choice to be gentle and kind to others because of the genuine love that I have personally experienced from God and my desire to share it with others, instead of letting how other people’s treatment upon me to decide on my approach to them. I know it’s hard…but that’s the least I can do to share the unconditional love God has for me unceasingly to others.

Some questions that you should remember to ask your overseas photographer if you are doing something like we are:

There are a couple of questions we would appreciate you to confirm with the photographer:

1. What extent of the measurements are required for Joel’s coats for the wedding? Would be great if they can confirm, such as waist, shoulder, etc? And by what time they are required for – is it the time when I go back?

I asked earlier already. Bridegroom's coat is in size S, M, L. It shld be fitting anyway. By the way, want me to buy a white shirt for wedding wear now or not? Branded at RM80-00 on offer now. what size?

2. Mum, it is noted that the Make-up, hairdo and bouquet are for photography only, it means extra arrangement needs to be done for my real wedding day – do you have any resources or recommendation for that? Can we add some price and get them to do it on my reception day at KL as well?

Yes, not a problem. Plenty of recommendations from my friends in KL. Can also get from this studio's artist, don know the price but it cannot be helped, right?

3. 80 pcs - 4R (8 poses i.e yr photos) thank you cards/postcard – how soon do we receive them? Since we are only taking the photography after our wedding, can we swap this with something else of the same value? Or can we give them a photo of ourselves and have him developed them into postcard for our guests in Brisbane (so must be done before 10/10/09), possible?

Normally, after u have taken the shots, they take 2-3 mths to do the albums and DVD. They also get yr opinion first and after design like this, see whether u like or not and change according to your wish. Since u r not locals, don know how or when they let u check 1st. Din ask abt this yet.. The TQ cards are free so nothing to swap with it. What photo u gave them? Normal one? Don think is nice not in wedding gown or evening gown.

4. Guest book – when do we get this? Can we get it before the photographic session so we can use this at our KL reception? How big or many pages is it? Any sample?

Yes, can get it when u are here in sep and use it for Bne too. Ya, they look nice. Shld be enough pages. Sometimes, restuarant also provides.

5. In order to decide which package to take, do they have any album in a set (at RM2988 value) that is available (besides those in his website) to be emailed to us? Or can we only have a look at the album when I go back to KK?

I havent seen the website yet. They do have a few patterns of covers for u to choose. i talk to them n see if they can email to u clearer ones.

6. Is the photo screen (last item at No. 4) available for us to take home or only display on the day? I wonder if it brings us any good if we are only going to own them after our wedding…

Yes for you to take home after display during the dinner. Ya, Come to think of it, you have no photos for this screen????? How????
