Today, very unusual, I woke up very early in the morning. Getting ready. Feeling pretty nervous. The wardrobe seems to be so lacking of clothes today. Making a decision of what to wear seems pretty hard. What am I doing???
There is Fathers' Day celebration at our church today. But it is not the main issue. Ps Lai Ling was on the stage giving 'special announcement'. Everyone goes 'Wowoo!', especially our Wei Hoong.
Today, at church, for the very first time, and surely will be the last time, he and I were publicly announced............as...................................ENGAGED COUPLE!!!!
Gosh...it was such a nervous moment. not knowing whether to stand or not. to turn to the audience or not. to shake hands with people or not. to......whatever. I was supposed to be in the intercessory prayer team which I did. Yet until after moment I was only able to fully concentrate. Sorry, church. Today was a busy day that I got myself involved in both intercessory prayer team and the Hope Bookshelf duties. But maybe because of my position near the church entrance, congratulations after congratulations were what I've been hearing for the whole day. The next question you can imagine is: when is your wedding?! This question we haven't thought deeply yet so it was a general answer that I gave: around Oct 2009 or March 2010. The next response then was: huh? 2010? that's too long.......so here we go.
I was grateful to be surrounded by so many sincere and generous people in my church who can't stop showering me with words of blessings and concern. It was great to be made publicly accountable as an engaged couple too! For the whole day, the words are still clear in my mind....
