Welcome myself back to the blog after a long break! Where should I start……I do actually have a lot of things to blog about daily…but unfortunately the busy schedule and the preparation pressure has taken all of me…leaving me no time for blog! But after reading a few of others’ wedding bloggers, I finally found my reason back to here…
Firstly..there’s so much blessed things and progress I like to blog about…
As a return to my favour and also an act of accepting my challenge after I posted the Great Couple Meme, he has also posted his answers about me on his own blog: http://worldinperspectives.blogspot.com/2009/06/how-well-i-know-my-mate.html
It was funny to see how he views me both on the highly (i.e. what is s/he good at; why would s/he succeed in life, etc) and the lowly (i.e. what item in his/her wardrobe would you like to burn; what’s s/he totally horrible at)! It was an eye – opener indeed! And at the end of the day, we both think that we did pretty well in terms of the understanding of one another. Maybe also serves as a little ‘mock exam’ before the big day comes….
Another blessed thing that I received is from my Maid of Honour – her touching blog posting about ME ~Leann Loo, I dedicate this to You~! It earned my tears and from the deep down of heart I am filled with gratitude and joy for having such a sista like her who accepts me whole-heartedly. It is not by chance that a person can have a best friend as such who understands, accepts and appreciates oneself just for who he/she is. I believe she is an angel, an extension of Jesus’ merciful hands that God has so kindly blessed me with by making our life paths crossed. I always thank God for showering me with the best thing that I could ever get when I least expected it.
Back to the serious topic – W-E-D-D-I-N-G!! Our weekends have been very fruitful! We went to the stationery shop as recommended by Julie as below:
Calligraphic Arts
214 Beaudessert Rd
Moorooka 4105
Tel: 0417610582 (after hours 07 3848 0643)
Mon-Fri: 9 am to 5 pm
Sat: 10 am to 1 pm
This is a house turned into a shop owned by a private owner. So the price is exceptionally lower. Of course not crazily cheap too. But the variety of stationary that they supply is good. We finally made up our mind for what we wanted and go ahead ordered with the lady owner. After one week or so, he collected from her and happily on the journey of hand-making the invitations. I know we are pretty slack and late in this – to only start making them 5 days after the ‘anxious 2-month-period’ has hit us! But I am grateful for Joel’s hard work in making them together and pouring out so much juice of creativity and effort in it. He is unbelievably great! He is a keeper! Haha….
Besides the stationery, finally today I have sort of finished selecting my main song choices for the important moment of the wedding and reception. There’s still so much to do – including downloading the songs, arranging in a way that helps the wedding DJ (assisted by our kind and generous church friend) in playing, etc. I have also finally sort of confirmed our guest list though we are leaving a few on our waiting list for further consideration. The program sheet is kind of having the structure fixed and just playing around with the timing and meal delivery time. What else? What else?
All in all, I thank God for such progress in my wedding prep. It's all motivated by 2 nightmares that I have on 2 nights in a row. They are about a mess that I witnessed during my reception night with the floor manager of the restaurant running around not sure who to speak to and confirm things with; and another one vaguely I remembered was happened during the ceremony. When I woke up I realised that it may be some pressure that I've been lying within me so caused me to have such dreams that reflect my true emotions subconciosuly. Though I know I can do better - but I am glad that wedding is not my everything - I have and do more than that - which is the Work of God! and His people. I thank God for the nightmares as well that now I begin to pray more for our wedding and the marriage in future! They all lie in His hands afterall......
