Melange Restaurant Came To Rescue!

Finally..............praise God................

Joel & I have confirmed our reception venue within a very good budgeted price for a minimum of 80 people inclusive of a bar tab offer. THANK GOD!
Gayle is from KL whose hubby is from HK and owned this restaurant as home business. She is very efficient, organised and gave us a lot of good deals, including hotel room, skirted table, wedding cake as dessert (which saves us $200-300) etc. She offered us a really big difference to our previous offer and God has truly showed us grace and blessing thru this. The restaurant has glass door (luo di bo li) all over and outside is a nice parkland. Prayerfully everything will run smoothly.

God has truly come to deliver us in times of need. May His Name be praised to the highest!

* Wedding Package inclusive of:
Alternate 2 drop of Entrees/Mains with Wedding cake of 2 flavours as dessert followed by tea/coffee
Cake & Bridal table - fully dressed
Decoration by our own effort which we asked for - their chairs and tables are pretty enough without further deco required!
Table preferences - Round / Square / Rectangle TBC
Complimentary hotel accomodation - The Sebel Citigate King George Square ( Cnr of Ann St & Roma St)
Food tasting will be made available once menu is decided - this is a bonus because nowadays most of the wedding venues do not offer this function

Disappointment with Cutting Edge

Today both of us visited the Events @ Cutting Edge for a discussion regarding our reception plan. We were quite nervous while waiting at the entrance because the last time we were there for an appointment with Fleur but she completely forgotten about it and apologised for that after we drove all the way from Southside to Westend. Thank God finally we were brought into the room after she took us to the 3rd floor with a lift. I liked the lift but was thinking in my mind that on my wedding day people might need to stand here and wait for the only lift available there.

We firstly addressed the issue of fitting 80 guests into the rectangular-shaped floor without exposing to the corridor outdoor. Fleur tried her best to help us but obviously the layout does not allow us to have a perfect plan. She promised to send us some pictures for an 80-guests-birthday-dinner and a small wedding that were organised on the venue for some idea of the seating arrangement. When we talked about the food and beverage, we told her that we will take the most expensive food menu and start with the $1000 beverages based on consumption first which would have exceeded the minimum spending. I can’t believe her expression and her suggestion for getting the guests to order their own drinks at the counter due to the inconvenience. My mind went blank as I’ve never seen any wedding guest required to stand up, get their own drinks from the bar and then go back to their sit.

When I asked her if there’s anything we need to know, she said no and that’s it. The way she spoke showed us some form of despise, inexperience and unprofessionalism. So we ended the meeting with further consideration and to get back to her regarding our final decision.

As we walked out of the room, we both agreed that we do not have peace and assurance in our heart to commit our reception plan into her hands. We also both felt that it’s unworthy to spend the big sum of money to buy this kind of attitude and service. We thank God for this last meeting that we had before we signed on any contract because previously I was just so madly in love with this venue. Now it’s time to look back at what information leaflets I’ve got on our trip to the Bridal Expo on 24/1/09 (Saturday)….

No way man...those plastic chairs are just very unpresentable...
