Wedding Ceremony Venue Chosen

Today we finally confirmed our wedding ceremony venue!! I submitted a registration form to Captain's Cove Function Centre at 44 Ferry St, Kangaroo Point, for our garden ceremony, with only 20% paid which is $100 on my credit card.
Our package includes 20 chairs with covers. Any additional covered chair is $6.60 each. I have also requested for a quote for normal chair which Janet is going to get back to me. We will only need to confirm all the details and arrangement one month prior to wedding, which is 10/9/09 (thursday), so we can be a bit slack for now!
I have note that on my mobile phone calendar for thing-to-do together ^_^ Shall brainstorm some deco idea with him. Below is some example of seating arrangement available. I chose to face straight onto the river.
Creating Your Own
Setting Straight onto River
Corner Tree
Evans Gardens
Facing Storey Bridge

The clever him has got the idea from website that some couples actually hire the wedding arch together with the next couple on the line whom are getting married at the same venue. What is challenging in this case is to get their contact details so that we can liaise with them. Well we'll see what we can do....

Ceremony Inclusions- $500.00 (sadly...they have jumped from $350 last year to $500 this year...but still...the cheapest among our list of favourites)

Wedding Open Day - Bretts Wharf

Another exceptional but pretty expensive place for wedding reception!

Bretts Wharf River Room seats up to 110 and overlooks the Brisbane River. We attended their free wedding open day in the River Room at 2pm. The surrounding decoration was brilliant, very clean-cut and stylish. They used much mirrors on tables and outdoor. There were 5 differently decorated reception tables with different colour themes and styles - all is sooo amazing!

The covered terrace and gardens are perfect for pre-dinner drinks and the gazebo is available for ceremonies. It was a super windy day and caused some mirrors to 'fly away' and was broken on the ground. How scary it was if we were passing by that place hey! Praise God that we were safe..haha..and we had fun taking pictures around and were honoured to have some big birds as the background.

Bridal Party Invitation

I love wedding. because it's all about people. it's all about celebration. it's all about relationships. especially friendships. i love how thru organising the wedding, our friendships with the bridal party can be developed and strengthened to a newer level. so personally i really value my bridal party personnels very much. until i wanted to make each of them a card to show our honour and sincerity of having them in our bridal party. however due to different person has a different love language and preferred approach in expressing, he & i only managed to make a card for my pretty Maid of Honour. (all other wonderful bridal party members were approached by words of mouth due to different location. sorry lady & guys. i still love ya muchie!)

The hand-made bridal party invitation card is in pretty pink and purple with words printed in black, designed by him and written by me. the card was passed to s during a dinner with her at Malaya Corner at Sunnybank Market Square. she was shocked yet happy (i guess). haha. and it took me ages to pursuade her too. i forgot to take a picture of that. so if you, the Maid of Honour, see this - please quickly take a picture of the card and email me so i can publish it on my lil' blog. here it goes my bridal part invitation - thanks for everything:

My Dearest Best Friend ShiMei

It has almost been one and a half years since we’ve become friends. I thank God for making our life paths crossed and becoming closer and closer as time goes by. I thank you for your thoughtfulness to me. You are always there for me when I need encouragement, a good listener and a great accompany. I feel so comfortable with you like I've known you forever.
Thank you for your intimate sharing and generous encouragement via conversations, text and emails that always lift me up when I am down. Thank you for your consistent initiatives in building up this friendship and make my days brighter. I want you to know how thankful I am to have your friendship – it is one of my most favourite blessings. I always cherish every moment that is spent with you and would truly love to share my most important moment with you too.
With greatest honour and joy, on the wedding of Joel and I, I would love to invite you, Shimei, to be my Bridesmaid - to be part of our most exciting time together with our bridal party. We believe that your presence will definitely bless our wedding and we especially more than we could ever expected.
